If you haven’t received the newsletter, please look in your spam folder for “ Father Vladimir and Parish” subject line.
We are planning to send newsletters for events such as Palm Sunday and Easter, Pentecost, Troika Fair.
If you haven’t given us your e-mail address and would like to receive these newsletters, please leave your e-mail address at the candle desk or subscribe on our church website http://stmaryofstamford.org/
Today’s bulletin explains about THE SUNDAY OF ORTHODOXY, please read it carefully. You will learn much from it.
Lenten Offering
Enclosed in the bulletin today will be a Lenten offering envelope. Please be as generous as you can. These offerings are used for sacramental wine, candles and many other needs during Great Lent and preparation for the Feast of Pascha.
The Iconostas is almost completed. Your generous donations made this possible. Today the icons on each side of the Holy Doors will be blessed.
As you noticed, we brought the candle stands down in front of the Iconostas because the residue from the burning candles and smoke will darken the gold leaf around these icons. Also, by not having the candle stands and lampadas directly in front of the icons, we can have the clear view of the entire icon.
