Annual Parish Meeting

The Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2019 after a  coffee break prepared by the Church Council.

To be an official member of the church one must be 18 years of age; pay an assessment of $250 yearly which includes membership to the OCA (Orthodox Church of America). St. Mary’s Orthodox Church of Stamford belongs to the OCA.  An official member of the church must go to the Parish Priest at least once a year for the Sacraments of Holy Confession and Holy Communion. Every official member is eligible to put his name in nomination for any elective office.

If you are not an official member of St. Mary’s Church and attend church services quite regularly, you are most welcome to audit the Annual Meeting but you cannot bring motions to the floor or vote on any motions.

Coming to this meeting is also very important to the non-member because you can learn more about the Orthodox church and realize what it takes to maintain the physical structures which include the Church building and the Parish house.

This meeting will include financial reporting, election of officers and many other reports concerning the operations of the Church.
