House Blessing
Father Vladimir will be blessing homes through the month of January. If you wish to have your home blessed, leave your name, address and tel. no. Father will contact you and arrange for a convenient time.
FYI Great Lent begins on Monday, Feb.19. A schedule of Church Services will be available next Sunday. This will give you time to plan your weekly schedules so that you can attend these beautiful Lenten Services.
The Lent before Easter is held in memory of the fasting of our Lord, Jesus Christ for forty days in the wilderness before He began His preaching to the world. This is to remind us that, as He deemed it necessary to prepare Himself before taking upon Himself the great task of salvation of the world, so we also must prepare ourselves by fasting to be worthy to partake in that salvation and in the resurrection.
The Orthodox Church urges us not only to fast, but also urges each and everyone of us to come to Holy Confession and Holy Communion, thereby not only cleansing our bodies, but also our souls.
